ARKANSAS IRON & PIPE WELDING ACADEMY

Graduates from our structural welding program can find employment in multiple fields including power plants, paper mills, refineries, etc. Construction welding equipment and procedure, as well as construction safety will be taught and practiced.
                     Course Breakdown

• Tool, grinder, and welding equipment safety
• Torch cutting safety, set-up, and procedures 
• Metallurgy 
• Welding terminology
• SMAW and FCAW plate preparation and welding

     -Fillet welds

     -Beveled open butt-welds

     -Beveled with backing strip welds

     -Welds in all positions

• Proper rod use for 6010 & 7018
• Final weld test administered and reviewed by licensed CWI 
• 10 weeks (400 hrs)

Graduates from our pipe and structural combination welding program can find employment in multiple fields including power plant, refineries, pipelines, paper mills, chemical plants, etc. Construction welding equipment and procedure, as well as construction safety will be taught and practiced.
                    Course Breakdown

• Pipefitting 
• Torch cutting safety, set-up, and procedures
• Metallurgy
• Welding Terminology 
• SMAW and GTAW welding procedures for root
• SMAW butt-welds with 37.5 degree bevel using 6010 & 7018 in 2G, 3G, 5G, and 6G positions
• GTAW butt-welds with 37.5 degree bevel using 70s wire in 2G, 3G, 5G, and 6G positions. 
• SMAW & FCAW plate preparations and welding

     -Fillet welds

     -Beveled open butt-welds

     -Beveled with backing strip welds

     -Welds in all positions 

• Proper rod use for 6010 & 7018
• Final weld tests will be administered and reviewed by licensed CWI
• 20 weeks (800hrs)
